Maintenance
Check out our tips to prevent many common issues and extend the life of your Zanussi Refrigerator.
Initial Setup and Safety
Remove all securing tapes and wash the inside of the appliance with lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water). Ensure all packaging is kept away from children. Allow the appliance to stand for 2 hours after installation before turning it on, to let the refrigerant settle.
Temperature Control
Use the air circulation slider control to manage the cold air distribution in the fridge compartment. Set the slider to 'MIN' when ambient temperature is between 10°C and 16°C, to 'MID' when above 16°C, and to 'MAX' during high ambient temperatures like hot summer days.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Switch off and unplug the appliance before any cleaning. Clean the outer casing with warm water and a little washing-up liquid. Dust the condenser and compressor at the back of the appliance with a brush or vacuum cleaner once or twice a year to ensure optimal performance and reduce electricity consumption.
Automatic Defrosting
The appliance is designed to defrost automatically. Regular checks are recommended to ensure the defrosting process is working correctly.
When Not in Use
If the appliance will not be used for prolonged periods, disconnect it from the electricity supply, empty all foods, clean the appliance, and leave the doors ajar to prevent unpleasant smells.
